Position: Executive Director

Reports To: Chamber Executive Committee

The Hopkinton Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to fostering a thriving business

community by supporting local businesses, advocating for economic development, and

enhancing the overall quality of life in Hopkinton. We connect businesses, government,

and community leaders to drive growth, collaboration, and innovation.

Position Overview

The Executive Director is the face of the Chamber and is responsible for executing the

organization’s mission, strategic vision, and daily operations. This individual will work

closely with the Board of Directors, Chamber members, and community partners to

promote economic growth, provide valuable resources, and enhance the Chamber’s

impact.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and implement programs, initiatives, and events that support the

Chamber’s mission and serve its members.

• Work with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to establish strategic

goals and ensure alignment with community and business needs.

• Work with the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to ensure effective and

efficient operation of the Chamber.

• Prepare materials for board meetings and facilitate discussions.

• Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the Chamber, representing its

interests at local and regional levels.

Membership Growth & Engagement

• Drive membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies to enhance

Chamber participation.

• Cultivate strong relationships with business owners, local officials, and community

leaders.

• Provide valuable networking, education, and advocacy opportunities for members.

• Identify and respond to the ongoing needs of Chamber members.

Economic & Community Development

• Collaborate with town officials and regional organizations to support policies and

initiatives that benefit local businesses.

• Promote Hopkinton as a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.

• Act as a resource for local businesses by providing insights, connections, and

advocacy.

Event Planning & Fundraising

• Oversee planning and execution of Chamber events, including networking events,

educational workshops, and annual celebrations.

• Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure funding to support Chamber

initiatives.

• Manage grant applications and other revenue-generating programs.

Operations & Financial Management

• Ensure sound financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and oversight

of Chamber funds.

• Maintain accurate records and oversee administrative functions, including

membership databases and communications.

• Supervise and support Chamber staff, volunteers, and committees.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven leadership experience, preferably in a chamber of commerce, nonprofit, or

business development role.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Experience in fundraising, event planning, and financial management.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Knowledge of Hopkinton’s business landscape and economic development

strategies is a plus.
